geforce go 7200

my hp dv2000 laptop has a nvidia geforce go 7200 as is evidenced by the following command output
lspci | grep -i nvidia
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce Go 7200 (rev a1)

In 7.04 when trying to run multiple bittorrent downloads I was getting the error Couldn’t listen - (98, ‘Address already in use’).

Vide my previous post, there is also a Gnome ALSA Mixer package called gnome-alsamixer, which is a bit nicer to use.

The sound on my HP dv2000 was pretty quiet since I upgraded to Ubuntu 7.04, even if the volume control was maxed out; this was annoying especially when playing music. The way to fix this is to run alsamixer in the terminal as sudo. It looks like the screen snap below. Just use the left [...]

Well thanks again to Zac Barton I now have the USB web cam in my dv2000 working.

I tried a number of different drivers, but in the end it was the linux-uvc driver that did the trick. Here are the commands used to get it installed

cd

svn checkout http://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/linux-uvc/

cd linux-uvc/linux-uvc/trunk/

make

sudo make install

sudo modprobe uvcvideo
